Research Methodology

Manufacturer-only sources, disclosed conflicts, and a never-guess policy for unpublished specs.

Methodology in one paragraph

All specifications come from manufacturer product pages and user manuals, collected in October 2026. Each spec links to its source. Conflicts between official sources are resolved in favor of the product page and disclosed. Unverifiable fields are left blank, never guessed.

Research Methodology

Sources

We use manufacturer official domains only: minelab.com / usa.minelab.com, garrett.com, noktadetectors.com (Nokta's official site — not nokta.com), xpmetaldetectors.com, and firsttexasproducts.com (official home of Fisher and Bounty Hunter product pages; Fisher is manufactured by First Texas Products, LLC).

Collection date

Model data was collected in October 2026. Manufacturers update pages and firmware; we re-verify model pages at least twice yearly.

Conflict resolution

When official sources disagree — for example, a product page and an FAQ giving slightly different weights — we keep the product-page value and record the conflict in our research notes and, where material, on the model page.

What "not published" means

Some fields (e.g., coil details on certain Minelab pages, Axiom frequencies during our research window) simply aren't on any official page. We mark these "not published by the manufacturer" rather than filling them from retailers or forums.
